A "cookie" is a file transferred from the Website to the hard drive of your computer.  The Blue District may use cookies to save your passwords so that you do not have to re-enter them each time you log-on to access your account, to personalize your account, and to display banner advertisements.  If you share your computers, it is recommend that you logout after each session and close the browser.
